Some things I use:
Hardware:
- 14" 2021 M1 MacBook Pro - I’m hoping this is the last computer I will ever buy; cobalt mining is too exploitative to make me feel good about buying new computers. When Apple stops supporting it I will make the official switch to Linux.
- Bose QC25 over ear headphones. The noise cancelling kind of gives me a stomach ache but the headphones themselves are super comfortable and corded!
Software:
- Neovim - over the summer I finally made the switch. People swear by the speed but since I do all my work on a laptop keyboard I never had to move my hands very far to use the mouse. My primary motives for switching were being able to consolidate the number of running programs I had (ie. a text editor and a terminal emulator) and also being able to craft my ideal editor. Prior to Neovim I bounced from Atom to Sublime to Zed each had things from the others I wanted/missed. My Neovim setup isn’t 100% there yet but it’s at a point where it suits about 90% of my needs.
